X-Axis Input Dialog

Data Analysis is designed to open and view large amounts of data.  Because of this, it often does not make sense to plot all of the data on a single screen.  The X-Axis Input Dialog toolbar (Figure 1) allows the user to easily scale the x-axis of the plot using three parameters.

Figure 1: The X-Axis Input Dialog toolbar.

  • "S:"tart - sets the plotter starting point for the selected file.
  • "W:"idth - sets the plotter width for the selected file.
  • "F:"ile - selects which data file is currently active.*
  • "do" - click this button to actually "do" the selected toolbar changes.
*Tip: The "F:"ile number pulldown list corresponds with the numbers on the data file tabs in the Tool Dialog area.

A horizontal scroll bar is located at the bottom of the plotter area.  Clicking on the scrollbar automatically updates the "S:"tart parameter.  In this way, data in a file that is too large for a single screen can be scrolled through like looking at a strip chart recording.

Double clicking on the plot's x-axis will display the X-Axis Input Dialog window (Figure 2) which is used in the same manner as the toolbar.
